As Dakshinamurthy, he is revered as the one who silently transmitted the truths of Vedas, Tantra, and cosmic knowledge to gods and sages alike. He taught Brahma and Vishnu, initiated Parvati into the secrets of Tantra, and continues to guide seekers on the path of inner awakening.
This sculpture captures the Lord seated beneath a beautifully represented Vata-vriksha (Banyan Tree) — a sacred symbol in Hinduism often seen as the Tree of Life and a spiritual axis of the cosmos. Around him gather sages and rishis, their hands joined in Namaskara (gesture of respect), in humble pursuit of transcendental wisdom.
